Liz Lake Associates are delighted to announce that our garden OSMOSE has been definitively selected for the Domain of Chaumont-sur-Loire International Garden Festival 2021. The festival has been held every year since 1992 at the historic 1000+ year old fortress of Chaumont-sur-Loire and has become an unmissable combination of heritage, art and gardens within the Loir Valley castle circuit.

This garden aims to respond to the values of nature in an attempt to self-regulate the collection, storage and transportation of water within an irrigation system controlled by natural processes, principally osmosis via an artifical root extension system. The principles of the garden have been derived from our experimentation with biomimicry in order to allow us to both collect water during times of drought and then to store water during wet periods, and then irrigate via an osmosis based delivery system that regulates the distribution of this resource as it becomes available to the locations where it is required most.
