Liz Lake Associates regularly attend a wide range of continuing professional development sessions, recently Landscape Architects, Imogen Morsman and Kate Yue Zhang, went to the University of Westminster to attend the Landscape Institutes Masterclass on Technical Photography for LVIA’s (Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment).
Mike Spence and Sam Shepherd of MsEnvision spoke about best practice when taking photography for LVIA’s. The session was very insightful, as there was a good mix of technical photography knowledge and relevance to landscape architecture and how photography can support, impartial LVIAs and planning work.
During the afternoon we were introduced to a suggested setup for camera equipment when taking photographs for a range of scenarios (Type 1-4 visualisations). We later went through the documents supporting best practice (Technical Guidance note TGN 06/19 Visual Representation of development Proposals) and how to process the photos taken to best represent an unbiased view of the landscape.
At Liz Lake Associates, we recognise the importance of having skilled and up-to-date team, therefore employee development sessions such as this are invaluable to the way we approach our projects.
At Liz Lake Associates, we have worked on various LVIA and other landscape planning project throughout our history. To see some examples of these, visit our example projects page.
