Liz Lake Associates were appointed by Vistry Partnerships (formerly Galliford Try) and Notting Hill Genesis to initially satisfy landscape conditions on the outline consented 2A Phase of the Gallions Quarter development within London’s Royal Docks. We were then novated for RIBA stages 4-6 and have produced detailed construction drawings and worked closely with the contractor throughout the developments construction to ensure the quality of the scheme was maintained. The scheme was completed in 2023.

The area around the Royal Docks is experiencing significant regeneration and substantial commercial investment following the construction of a new Crossrail station at Custom House. Within the development there are a number of identifiable character areas. These include the Urban Park, Gallions Green (a linear park that runs east to west across Phase 2A and 2B southern boundary) and Gallions Street which make up the public realm Gallions Quarter landscape provision. With Block A there is a communal amenity podium deck, providing discrete, private spaces for residents to utilise. The Phase 2A masterplan presents an inclusive landscape design; providing access, circulation, security and open space for all users, public and residents to safely enjoy. Planting within the scheme is carefully selected, providing a hierarchal tree planting strategy which ensures the scheme is underpinned with strong structural landscaping, softening and complementing the built form.

Overall the scheme provides a high quality and varied public realm, with elements of contemporary urban design combined with ornamental, green parks.
