Jessop Park, Bristol.
Liz Lake Associates worked with Keepmoat Homes on the detailed landscape design of this 350 house development which will form a key part of the regeneration of South Bristol. The design process included collaboration with Urban Designers at Bristol City Council as well as Public Consultation with the local community.
The proposals feature three main landscaped areas; a new central public Pollinator Park providing a habitat for wildlife and community use, Living Streets with trees and planting between the new housing and a Wildlife Corridor with attenuation swales and winding paths leading to adjacent green spaces and natural play areas.
The scheme provides a diverse range of planting for ecological mitigation and biodiversity enhancements to encourage, bats, bees, birds and other insects and mammals. The detailed mixes include a high proportion of native species and an area of fruit orchard for the benefit of the new community residents.
