Liz Lake Associates were appointed by Commercial Estates Group and LaSalle Investment Management to provide landscape design services for the proposed extension of the Peterhouse Technology Park, Cambridge. The proposed development will provide new headquarters for ARM Holdings accommodating an additional 2,500 employees.

The landscape design brief required the consideration of the existing business park landscape composition and the establishment of a high-quality landscape setting for the new office accommodation. The landscape design responds to the site location on the edge of the Cambridge Green Belt and provides a strategy for the site expansion. The landscape design creates a new element of urban fabric that integrates, in a contemporary way with the existing Peterhouse Technology Park, while complementing and enhancing the built forms of the new office buildings and car park structures. The proposed scheme prioritizes pedestrian access throughout the development. It is the objective of the public realm proposals to create a sense of place, incorporating clear visual connections and way finding, places to pause coordinated with vehicular parking and service access. We produced a Landscape Management Plan (LMP) to help secure the long-term development of the site.

The planning application was approved by the City Council in September 2015. Liz Lake Associates were appointed by Kier Construction to provide landscape architecture service for the project throughout the construction phase which began in Autumn 2016. Liz Lake Associates provided consultancy as well and a full suite of construction drawings which were used to implement the landscape. The scope of work also included the procurement of important trees from Holland, , working with the project artist, snagging, inspection of planting areas and liaison with landscape contractor.
